Mr Nice Guy - Rose Oud

With the radiant and royal fragrance Rose Oud, Mr John Brown created a delightfully unisex interpretation of precious oud. The floral harmony is based on dried rose petals from France and Morocco. A valuable extract of rose essences is combined in an exquisite Turkish geranium liqueur infused with amber. The rich and addictive notes of vanilla blend with the young buds of patchouli and an oud accord in a creation that leaves a lasting mark.

The fragrance pyramid

When creating new perfumes, Mr John Brown also uses the fragrance pyramid as a guide. Behind this is the principle that is used in every fragrance composition - the structure of the Mr Nice Guy fragrances, so to speak. Because the individual components differ in their volatility, i.e. in how quickly they evaporate in the air. The three fragrance phases that represent the steps of the pyramid are also known as notes. In addition, other connecting fragrance elements round off the transitions and thus create a harmonious overall experience of the Mr Nice Guy fragrances.

The top note

The top note is the apex of the pyramid and thus the prelude to every Mr Nice Guy fragrance. It is immediately noticeable and is made up of stimulating, fresh and light essences. These include cardamom and geranium. As its name suggests, the top note works primarily on the mental level. It sets the direction, but dissipates after just a few hours.

The heart note

The actual character of the Mr Nice Guy fragrances appears after two to four hours - as the heart note. Although it announces itself earlier, it takes some time to develop to full intensity. Then it keeps for eight to twelve hours. Addressing the soul level, the heart note has a balancing, sensual effect of rose, amber and cedar. For this fragrance phase, mainly floral scents as well as powdery and sweet notes are used.

The base note

Also called a footnote, the base note forms the lowest level of the fragrance pyramid. Heavy essences find their place here - i.e. all woody, earthy, animal and exotic scents such as oud, musk and vanilla, musk. With their strong, long-lasting structure, they give the Mr Nice Guy fragrance its "body". Therefore, the base note, which is the most intense of the three levels, is also assigned to the body level.
